When Netflix announced that they had Purchased ‘Lionheart’ making it the first Netflix original film produced in Nigeria, many were overjoyed and filled with pride that at least the Nigerian film industry is finally being given the recognition it deserves. But few people were still a bit skeptical about the movie, being that, with all the hype around it, it might eventually disappoint. But this was not the case of Lionheart, this feel-good movie which wasn’t overly suspenseful was just the perfect Nigerian Netflix debut. The movie which is about feminism and family values in modern day Nigeria has Nigerians singing the praise of Genevieve Nnaji all over. I will give the movie a 6/10 rating.
