Manchester United’s Bid For Ismaila Sarr Rejected Before Transfer Deadline

The Watford winger is on Man Utd’s transfer radar on deadline day after their fruitless attempts to sign Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Dembele.

Manchester United have seen a deadline day bid for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr rejected.

United made an offer of an initial season-long loan with the option to buy at £25million, but Watford are holding out for an outright permanent deal. United prefer a loan.

The Hornets value the 22-year-old at around £45million and would be keen to sell if they received a permanent bid somewhere near that valuation. Liverpool registered an interest in him earlier in the window.

United are eager to sign a first team right-wing option on deadline day after unsuccessful attempts to sign Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Dembele in this summer window.

The Old Trafford club appear to be closing in on the signings of two 18-year-old wingers in Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore from Penarol and Atalanta respectively. But they remain keen to bolster the right-wing position, where Mason Greenwood has been filling in since Daniel James’ form collapsed earlier this calendar year.

The transfer transfer deadline for Football League clubs is not until October 16th but United would need to complete a deal for Sarr by Tuesday (October 6th) if Sarr is to be registered for their upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign. The Senegal international is highly rated and would be a good fit on the United right flank.

It remains to be seen whether United will make a new approach for Sarr. They look set to unveil the signings of Porto left-back Alex Telles and Uruguayan free agent forward Edinson Cavani on deadline day but more deals are likely.
