King Mswati III of Swaziland who has 15 wives has declared in Mbabane Swaziland that men will from June 2019 be required to marry more than one wife or be jailed. The polygamous king made this decision after realizing that there are more women than men in Swaziland. Mswati who said this is a very serious problem noted that the country has a lot of virgins. 
According to IHarare, men from Swaziland are therefore required and expected to take more wives so that every woman gets a husband. The king assured the men of his country that the government will pay for the marriage ceremonies and buy houses for them. He, however, warned that any man or woman who opposes the decision “will face a life sentence”. Mswati who has 15 wives and 25 children, followed his father’s legacy of having more than 70 wives and 150+ children.
