Your Excellency! King Of Thailand Goes Into Self-Isolation With 20 ‘Concubines’

Since the global outbreak of the Coronavirus, a pandemic has compelled countries around the world to put in place a shutdown and stay at home order in order to maintain social distancing in a bid to stem the spread of the deadly Novel Coronavirus from spreading. And so the Thai King chose to Self-Isolate in Germany 20 female concubines as companions.

The King lodged at the Luxury Grand hotel Sonnenbichi in Bavaria, despite the lockdown rules he put in place in Germany the monarch booked the entire hotel for his own personal use, reports Metro. According to German tabloid reported that the King wanted to come along with over 119 servants to serve him at the hotel, but 119 were sent back due to suspicion that of already having the Coronavirus. 

As a result, ‘Why do we need a king?’ began trending on Twitter. However, speaking against the monarch is an offence in Thailand. The country’s lese-majeste law, one of the strictest in the world, forbids any kind of insult of the king or the queen.

The current king of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn has had four wives: Princess Soamsawali (1977-1993); Yuvadhida Polpraserth (1994-1996); Srirasmi Suwadee (2001-2014); and Queen Suthida.
