Former Katsina LGA Chairman Arrested For Aiding Bandits

The Katsina State Police Command have announced the arrest of Haruna Musa Mota a former caretaker Chairman For Jibia Local Government Chairman Katsina State, for alleged ties with bandits in the state. Former Katsina State LGA Chairman Haruna Musa Mota

The Spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah said on Monday, morning February 8, 2021, that the former Caretaker Local Government Chairman has been arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting bandits operating in the state.

Recall that sometime last year in December, 11th  2020, to be precise 344 Boys were abducted in Katsina State from a Boy’s only boarding senior secondary school in Kankara on the outskirts of the state, though all of the boys abducted were rescued and brought back safely. It raised tension and insecurity issues in the country again as this abduction took place in the home state of the president and on the very same day he was visiting his hometown Daura in Katsina State.

The ex-council boss was arraigned before a senior magistrate court on Friday, February 5 and remanded in a Katsina correctional centre pending the time the police would complete investigation on his case and when the state Ministry of Justice issue legal advice on the case.
