Ondo State Governor Akeredolu Appoints Son As Head of Ondo Govt Agency

Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has sparked several reactions on social media after he appointed his son Babajide Akeredolu, as the Director-General of the Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU) in the state alongside the nomination of 14 other commissioners.

According to the statement, the names of the nominees, especially the position of commissioner, would be forwarded to the state House of Assembly for screening, clearance, and confirmation. Nominated/appointed persons will be sworn in at a date to be announced later after the necessary legislative processes.

Governor Akeredolu of Ondo state has passed into law the Anti-grazing bill in line with the resolution of the Southern Governors’ Forum at its last meeting in Lagos. The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said “the move is in line with the resolution of the Southern Governors’ Forum at its last meeting in Lagos where September 1 was set as the deadline for governors in Southern Nigeria to sign the Anti-Open Grazing Bill into law.
