The passengers, numbering about 450 from Romania, landed at the private jet terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by 7:10 am (WAT) via a Max Air flight VM602 on Friday.
They are mostly students who fled Ukraine to Romania following ongoing Russia’s military assault on the Eastern European country.
Recall that the Federal government had earlier promised to evacuate the stranded Nigerians on Wednesday.
According to the foreign affairs minister,Geoffrey Onyema,  “We hope to start evacuation hopefully Wednesday although some do not want to come back. We are doing everything possible to ensure that come Wednesday we will dispatch planes for evaluation.”
