Ex-Ebonyi Commissioner Arrested Over Murder Case

The Ebonyi state police command has arrested a former Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution in the state, Donatus Ajah, over allegations of murder.

Ebonyi StateThe former Commissioner is accused of being privy to the death of one Azubuike Inya, a 46-year-old man.

Reports says he was killed by hoodlums who dealt machete wounds to his body, causing his death.

Police reports that the killing was caused by intra-communal crisis between two warring factions of the Amankwo village Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi.

Members of the community say that on May 23, certain thugs attacked a local joint and began inflicting machete wounds on all and sundry present. Hearing of the attack, Inya had rushed there to beg the attackers, but he unfortunately met his dad end at the hands of the hoodlums.

Members of the deceased family say the former Ebonyi Commissioner is responsible for sending the hoodlums.

Speaking, Spokeperson of the state police command, Loveth Odah, said regarding Ajah’s arrest.
