The wreckage from the plane transporting Cardiff City player, Emiliano Sala has been found in the English Channel. The plane referred to as Piper Malibu N264DB got lost on the 21st of January while it was on its way to Cardiff, from Nantes. The plane carried the Argentine striker together with its pilot David Ibbotson. The wreckage of Piper Malibu was found on Sunday by David Mearns who led a privately-funded search for the aircraft. He revealed that he found the plane off Guernsey on Sunday. He was however called to stand down with regards to the search as the Air Accident Investigation Branch quickly swiped in to take over. Mearns, however, revealed that: “All I will say, is that there is a substantial amount of wreckage on the seabed.”  In a series of tweets, the marine scientist Mearns disclosed that: “The families of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson have been notified by police. Our sole thoughts are with the families and friends of Emiliano and David.” Reacting to the issue, the player’s father, Horacio who spoke with the Argentinian broadcaster Cronica TV said: “I cannot believe it. This is a dream. A bad dream. I am desperate.” Photo Credit: Getty
