Cracker Mallo made his big break into the music industry producing ‘Jealous’ for Fireboy DML. There was something very thrilling about that sound that made music enthusiasts put this young man on the radar.
Since then, he has had an interesting time in the industry, working with big names and producing their work. In case you missed it, he was the ‘Saund’ behind Olamide’s ‘Pawon’. He has also worked on other songs including ‘Azaman’ by Slimcase.
As his sound got better, so did his clientele, pushing him to work with some of the big names including Tiwa Savage, Dice Ailes and others. With the number of works he had out, it was just right about time to drop a project, and An Introduction To Saund was born.
A five-track EP, pushed by a range of EDM tunes, Cracker Mallo inputs his vocals into his production. In fact, he performed the closing track, Do Better.
The project opens with ‘Paradise’ featuring DJ Enimoney. It sits easily; doesn’t push you away, yet doesn’t do anything serious. The EDM harmony and the Jamaican patois are a huge saving grace. A better feature with a lyrical Afro-pop artiste might just have been what this track needs.
‘The Hardest‘ is a more street-pop sound featuring DJ Neptune with vocal inputs from Simcase.The climax which the ‘Saund’ climbs is a huge success.
It might have been better to put Slimcase fully on this song. It has his sort or energy and fervor stamped all over it.

‘Palanshe’ featuring Olamide could in one sentence, have been better. The guitar chords need to have been better and the drums harder.
In a previous article about ‘Wickedest Wyne’ featuring Fireboy DML which is the best song on the project, this writer pinpoints his opinion in these words:
“If like this writer, you’ve missed the union of Fireboy DML and Cracker Mallo, then this is the track for you. An Afro-Pop song about love and vanity, a woman’s curves and all the twists that can come from her body.
“No doubt, Fireboy has always been a lover boy, but in this song we’re seeing a gradual switch to something deeper.”
While, there is so much, so little one can do on a five-track EP, Cracker Mallo needs to up his game and get it right. The project is too close to failure and his next project should be all the proof his fans and followers need to continue their dance moves to his work. Cracker Mallo needs to Do Better. Saund!
