Barcelona are preparing a fourth bid for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho that could rise to £138m – a deal that would be the most expensive deal involving an English club. But Reds will not shift from their “definitive stance”, as outlined in an emphatic statement by owners Fenway Sports Group, that no offers will be considered for the Brazil international, who will remain at Anfield come the close of the window. The offer will include an initial payment of £101million up front with £37m. The £37m in add-ons are understood to be linked to Champions League appearances and would be expected to be easily achievable, were he to move to the Nou Camp.
Coutinho has not featured for the club yet this season due to a back injury of convenient timing and Jurgen Klopp has revealed he is now also laid low with a virus.
