Anthony Joshua: Tyson Fury Is A Real Boxing Connoisseur, He’ll Beat Deontay Wilder In Rematch

Anthony Joshua is backing Tyson Fury to beat Deontay Wilder in their rematch in February.

WBC champion Wilder and Fury go to war a second time in 2020 in a hugely anticipated rematch of their 2018 classic.

Fury is the favourite among many boxers and fans up against the most feared puncher in the division, and Joshua has predicted a victory for the Gypsy King.

‘In terms of skill, I rate him highly. He’s a real boxing connoisseur. He studies boxing like I do,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘He’s around boxing people. He has some resemblances and style like Muhammad Ali. I think he might beat Deontay Wilder next time out.’

Joshua is the WBA (Super), WBO and IBF champion again after gaining revenge over Andy Ruiz in their rematch earlier this month.

The British heavyweight will be aiming to become undisputed champion in 2021 should he get past both his mandatory challengers next year. Joshua is hoping Fury wins, because he expects his domestic rival to be more willing to agree to a unification fight than Wilder.

‘I think Tyson would fight me quicker than Wilder would. IF that’s the case then I want Fury to win. To have that fight here on British soil is… can you imagine it? Fury if you need me for sparring. I sparred Tyson Fury when we were kids. I’ll go out to America and spar Tyson Fury to get him ready for this Wilder fight. I would like that fight because I think Fury would fight me faster than Wilder would.’
