The new Inspector General of police has been announced by President Buhari and he is none other than AIG Abubakar Adamu. Adamu who hails from Nasarawa state was head of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). He replaced Ibrahim Idris, who has attained the statutory retirement of 60 in the force.
Adamu who was a former Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP) in Ekiti State, once served with the United Nations and INTERPOL. His appointment was made official after Nigerians kicked against Buhari extending the tenure of the outgoing IGP. Photo Credit: Getty
