Veteran Singer Onyeka Onwenu Opens Up About Sleeping With Obasanjo

Veteran popular singer, actress, and social activist, Mama Onyeka Onwenu has finally addressed the rumours that have trailed her for nearly three decades now.

The biggest of those rumours was that she had affair with the former Military and civilian Head Of State, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. In an interview with famous media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Onwenu denied the allegations that she slept with the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. She also denied allegations that she had a secret marriage with him.

She also revealed she was accused while growing up of sleeping with many big men in Nigeria.

The veteran singer said: “I was accused of sleeping with Sunny Ade, Fela and Obasanjo. “They even went to the extent of saying I got married to Obasanjo secretly. If he approached me to marry him, why would I keep it a secret? We would have made it public so that was funny.”

She went on to say that her marriage to her ex-husband would have nearly killed her if it hadn’t been for God’s grace.
