BRT Bus Set Ablaze After Collision With Commercial Bus
Tragedy struck on Wednesday, April 19, when a BRT bus collided with a commercial bus at Ifako inwards Ogudu Bridge. The commercial bus driver reportedly died on the spot while many passengers were injured.

Afterwards, an angry mob set the BRT ablaze as they believed the accident was caused by the BRT driver.

Confirming the tragic incident, spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) blamed the collision on the buses’ excessive speed.
The spokesman added that the BRT bus was set ablaze, aggravating the congestion along the axis, and the rain compounded the gridlock. LASTMA officials have been deployed to the accident scene to manage the traffic.

Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye said in a statement that ‘area boys’ set the BRT bus on fire but firemen rushed down to the scene of the accident to combat the fire.
