A passenger train crushed a Lagos state government BRT staff bus at PWD junction, Ikeja in the early hours of today.
The train which was reportedly coming from Agege had collided with the BRT vehicle having the Lagos state government workers on board while crossing the rail to link Ikeja GRA.

It was uncertain the number of casualties but the BRT bus was smeared with the fresh blood of victims. The accident has caused gridlock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for motorists coming from Oshodi around Shogunle to Ikeja-Along.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) spokesman, Adebayo Taofiq confirmed the sad incident.
He said the bus was used to convey staff of the Lagos State Government when the accident happened.

Also, a spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency in Lagos, Ibrahim Farinloye also confirmed the news.
“The State Government staff bus was trying to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing while the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.”
First responders have since arrived the scene and rescue activities are currently ongoing.
