Nollywood Zubby Michael, like many others, have expressed his displeasure for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA after the 7th edition went down on Saturday.
The event saw many thespians and stars win big at the various categories ranging from the movies to their fashion and style. Zubby Michael, however, is dissatisfied as many Igbo veterans in the industry are shunned and not awarded.
He took to Instagram to express his concern, tagging the award as a tribal one which is not meant for the Igbo actors. He added that he is sure many of the members of the organising team are from the Yoruba tribe which is why a lot of Yoruba actors and actresses got the nominations and eventually, the awards. Reacting to one of the replies on his previous post in which an IGuser comlained about the same thing, he wrote, “I am sure most of the organizer are Yoruba. They did not even recognize the pillars or Nollywood, the original owner of living in Bondage was not mention but new living in Bondage got 8 awards, our dead heroes like Sam Loco and others where not mentioned, Award without people that made Mama G, Ski and Paw paw, Pete Edochie, Kanayo O Kanayo“
