Lawmakers in the Zamfara State House of Assembly have impeached the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Mahdi Gusau.
Mr Gusau was impeached during plenary on Wednesday shortly after the House received the report of the committee set up by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, to investigate the allegations against him.

KOKO TVÂ had earlier reported that a seven-man panel was set up to investigate alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office levelled against Gusau.

The Deputy Governor was impeached after Speaker of the Assembly, Honorable Nasiru Muazu Magarya read the report.
