Former YPP Presidential Candidate Kingsley Moghalu Denies Joining APC

The former Presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) at the 2019 elections Kingsley Moghalu has reacted to recent media reports that he has joined the All Progressive Congress {APC}. Kingsley Moghalu

The former CBN deputy governor was earlier this week said to have joined the ruling party, in a statement made by the APC’s spokesperson Anambra, Okefo Madukaife, he said in his interview, “I am informing you, go and check, Dr Moghalu is no longer in YPP. Moghalu is supposed to be the leader of the party,” Madukaife reportedly said.

However, Moghalu raised alarm about the irresponsibility of publishing the story in a series of tweets discrediting the claims with his post on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.

 Months after losing the February 2019 presidential election, won by incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, Moghalu resigned his membership of the YPP.

He announced that he was withdrawing from partisan politics to focus on To Build A Nation (TBAN), a non-partisan citizens’ movement to campaign for electoral reform and engage in voter education.
