“You Have Abandoned My People” – Okorocha Cries Out To President Buhari

Rochas Okorocha

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has cried out to the Buhari-led Federal Government of Nigeria over what he described as apparent neglect of Imo State by the Federal Government despite the huge sacrifices and contributions made by the state towards the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
Governor Okorocha particularly noted that Imo State has been treated with utter disregard by the Ministry of Niger Delta since it was created. He highlighted the fact that the only project of the ministry in the state was the long abandoned Skill Acquisition Centre located in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area.
Speaking in a meeting with the Minister of State for the Ministry of Niger Delta, Prof Claudius Omoleye Daramola, who visited him at the Government House over the weekend, Governor Okorocha said: “I want to make this plea based on the role this state played toward the enthronement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. APC would have been seen as a sectional party that does not consider some regions of the country. So I demand that attention be given to Imo State, considering the role we played.”
