“This Is Unfair” – Businesswoman Calls Out Abuja Municipal Area Council For Sealing Her Restaurant With Customers Inside

A Nigerian businesswoman has called out the Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC for sealing her restaurant up with people inside the facility, both customers and workers.
In a video which surfaced on social media, the woman noted that she had just been running the branch of her restaurant in Gwarinpa, Abuja for a year and has spent an exhaustively expensive amount of money on getting some agency payments settled, and other things pertaining to her staff, including medical tests.
She noted that having settled all of these, another set of officials from the Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC showed up at her restaurant while she was at a meeting to ask for the food handlers receipts, only to lock up the place as the receipt was not available at the branch but the Head Office. She was, however, given the option of paying 250,000 naira or risk it being locked up as they had a court order to.

“I know it is not just me that this is happening to, it is happening to a lot of business owners in this country but this is not fair, this is not fair. We work from morning to night to make sure we attain this success, we make sure we help these people that work under us. You can’t expect us to be doing business and at the same time everyday, these AMAC people will come and frustrate you
“, she began.
