Yaba College of Technology Expels 19 Students Over Examination Malpractices

Yaba College of Technology, Lagos has expelled nineteen students over offences relating to examination malpractices in the institution. The students affected belong to various departments within the school and cut across both full-time and part-time programmes.

The students were said to have committed the offences during the second semester examinations in the 2016/2017 academic session. The three circulars sighted in the institution’s campus indicated that the Academic Board took the decision on behalf of the management at its meetings variously held on 28th May, 30th May, and 7th June.

YABATECH spokesman, Ndubueze Ejiofor, while explaining the rationale behind the decision said, “When the students were admitted, they were given the students’ handbook. Part of the content discriminates against examination malpractices. It is standard practice here. Once anyone violates the rule, he should be ready to pay for that.” See names of expelled students below:
