It’s Wrong To Relax Lockdown Order For Religious Reason – Peter Obi

Peter Obi
Former Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi has kicked against some state governors relaxing the lockdown orders in some states across the country for religious reasons like Friday Ju’mat services and for Easter festivities. Peter Obi

In an interview with Arise TV on Friday, April 10th the former Vice Presidential aspirant said he reads that some State governors have relaxed the lockdown order in their states due to religious reasons, and that such a decision is completely wrong because the Coronavirus pandemic in the country is yet to be curbed and still spreading with Nigeria not having enough resources to manage its devastating effect.

Dr Peter Obi further stated that some of the states in the country which has relaxed the lockdown order do not even have ventilators just in case there’s an escalation of the crisis

Peter Obi said;

“It is wrong to relax lockdown because of people going to church. Faith is a thing of the mind. You can worship without going to church,” Obi said.
“We have a crisis that we don’t have the resources to manage. The greatest country in the world is America. They are on their knees now health wise and economically. We should not allow that because we cannot manage it.
“Lock up Nigeria and we will solve our problems from within.”
