A worker has vanished after being accidentally paid £150,000 for a month’s worth – 300 times his salary.
The unnamed Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos worker should have been paid £450 in May.
Instead, the lucky employee, who lives in Chile, accidentally receives a sum 300 times his salary.
Rather than pay the company back, he took the money and bolted and has not been seen or heard from since.According to local news outlet Diario Financiero, the man did report the discrepancy in his pay to his manager, who took it to HR.
The man agreed to return the stash and told his employer he would go to the bank the very next day.
Though he did go to the bank, he actually took the money out and ran.
Consorcio – which makes cold cuts – tried to get hold of him over the next three days, but what they got in return was a message from his lawyers offering his resignation.
The company never got a chance to accept or deny the resignation as the man has not responded to any messages.
They filed a complaint with law officials, charging the man with misappropriation of fund.
No arrests have been made.
The average take-home pay in Chile around £750 per month.
