A Young woman identified as Oyinye Aguluka has been murdered just 24 hours to her wedding. According to reports, Oyinye was allegedly stabbed to death in bed by her own father on Friday. The family lived at Ndiagu Igboezue in Osikwu village Awgbu, Orumba North local government of Anambra State, The Nation reports. According to sources who spoke with The Nation, her traditional wedding was scheduled for yesterday. Cletus Aguluka, the suspect has now been arrested by the police after trying to flee upon committing the offence. 
Mother of the deceased, Georgina, speaking on the issue said Cletus returned home late on Thursday looking drunk. He reportedly asked his children for his torchlight but none of whom gave him a satisfactory answer about its whereabouts. Everyone thought it had ended there, but only did they know he had more in store. “We thought he had forgotten about the torch until he woke up around one o’clock in the night, went inside his room and brought out a machete and stabbed Onyinye who was fast asleep,” Georgina said. Cletus’s younger brother, Sebastine Aguluka, said he had lately indulged in molesting almost every member of the extended family. Twin brothers of the deceased, Sochima and Chidera, said they left the house that night as they saw the way he was behaving and they did not want to be molested by him. The state police public relations officer, PPRO, Mr Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the killing yesterday adding that investigation was still in progress investigation and once concluded, the suspect would be charged to court.
