Why I Preached Celibacy To Young Girls – Linda Ikeji Opens Up After Internet Trolls

Linda Ikeji came out to defend her celibacy counseling before running back to a hiding place.

The media mogul who was before yesterday, a role model to many single ladies – announced she’s pregnant and expecting her first child, a baby boy, this year. Linda Ikeji became a trending a topic on Nigerian internet after the story was first published her site, and she was trolled by ladies who felt betrayed after years of following her gospels. Linda took to Twitter today (May 21) to defend her decision to become a mother, tweeting : “I’ve lived by it. But then I turned 36 and I knew there was nothing else I wanted more than to be a mum & wife and celibacy wasn’t going to get me that! I even did a video talking about how much I wanted these two things and God has finally answered my prayers. Beyond blessed.”

Linda is Nigeria’s richest blogger – she got engaged to a “mystery” man in March and now she’s in her second trimester of pregnancy. On why she preached celibacy, she tweeted: “I preached celibacy to young girls because I feel that’s the right way to live until you meet someone very special that you love & who loves you and wants to be in a committed relationship with you. Passing body around and having multiple partners is not the way and I stand by it.” She has since deleted the tweets. But in a post on her Instagram account today, Linda admitted she can “hide baby bump for Africa,” sharing her recent photos, which no one would suspect she’s carrying a baby if spotted in public.
