Nollywood veteran actor Jim Iyke has revealed why he doesn’t follow any account on Instagram. The actor who boasts of several millions of followers on his verified page doesn’t follow anyone even his close friends and colleagues.
The TV star was a guest on Temisan Emmanuel’s podcast Tea with Tay and he opened up on how he feels about social media describing Instagram as Pseudo reality. The actor shared he viewed the platform as a marketplace. He shared that his posts are tailored as they do not feature his family, personal life, or pleasures because does should be enjoyed privately away from the media.
He stated that there are three tiers of life that I live. I live the private life, the public life, and the secret life. Jim Iyke also noted that he was protecting his kids from social media so that they won’t be judged by their actions or be noticed in public.

“Social media is public life. If I want to make a statement in style, if I want to make a statement on my ideology and principles, if I want to market something, or if I want to set a new understanding on my opinion of something, that is where I should be. “If I’m having a good time with people that don’t mind being on that platform,I go there.”
“From day one I got on social media, I didn’t want to follow anybody. I wanted to establish the fact that this is a marketplace. It’s a pseudo-reality there. It’s not what people want to take as their everyday life.
