In a bid to keep its promise of providing relief materials to Lagosians to enable them keep to the stay-home order and be okay, Lagos State Government has released the location of 27 emergency food market across the State.
This is aside relief package Sanwo-Olu announced will be delivered to people across the State. In a video shared across the State’s social media platforms, the modalities of the market operation were reeled out.
According to the statement signed by Prince Gholahan Lawal, Commissioner, Lagos State Min. of Agriculture, the emergency food markets, which will serve as temporary shopping channels for Lagosians is to help maintain social distancing in our food markets during this trying time.

Good people of Lagos, the Lagos state ministry of agriculture have taken steps to limit the negative impact the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will have on the State’s food security. Thus, the ministry of agric have selected twenty seven (27) schools statewide to act as temporary Shopping Channels/ Markets as we fight this pandemic together. These markets are to help maintain social distancing in our food markets and ameliorate the pain of our people during this trying times. The “Markets” commenced operations on Sunday, 29th of March, 2020 state wide and the next market day will be this Friday, April 3rd, 2020 state wide.
