“Where Are Igbo Leaders?” – Lauretta Onochie Blames Igbo Leaders For Insecurity In South-East

Lauretta Onochie, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, has blamed Igbo leaders in the South-East for the growing insecurity in the region.

Onochie who stated this via a tweet on her verified Twitter handle on Friday claimed the inability of the leaders to caution the youths against crimes caused by the killings.

The president’s aide was reacting to the recent attack in Orlu, Imo State where about eight suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB were killed.

KOKO had reported that hoodlums suspected to be members of the IPOB, attacked the police divisional headquarters on Thursday night.


The joint security operatives who engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel killed eight of the attackers and recovered seven vehicles.

Reacting, Onochie said the South-East leaders only attack the president but fail to instil value in their youths.
