Ramsey Nouah admits “Yahoo Yahoo” is not a CLEAN hustle.
The Nollywood actor during a recent interview stated that the Nigerian system gave birth to internet fraudsters in the country and it can only be stopped if the government address issues from the roots. “I’m going to be diplomatic about it, of course, there is a backlash to this yahoo yahoo thing and everybody knows that it’s not fair and not clean,” Ramsey told Pulse. “However where I can’t blame…is that every time we talk about the ills of the society, I can’t but bring it down to the system. The system gave birth to all of these things, so if I wanna talk about issues like this I want to tackle it from the roots and not just tackle it from the stem.”The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently arrested over 12 suspected internet fraudsters – also known as Yahoo Boys – at a popular nightclub, Club 57, which is located in Ikoyi area of Lagos. The incident gathered a lot of reactions on the Nigerian internet with celebrities taking sides. Ramsey Nouah continued: “So the issue that everyone is just talking about the yahoo yahoo thing is that we are justing it from the stem. If you want us to find ways around it then let us look it from the roots, take it out from there then we can work it out to the stem.“ Ramsey played the lead role in new Nollywood movie, “Crazy People,” which starred Ireti Doyle, Desmond Elliot, Sola Sobowale, Chigul, Funny Bone, Bryan Okwara, and Kunle Afolayan. The new film which production reportedly cost N100 million will hit cinemas on May 25.
