Domestic violence is one societal menace that everyone wants to end, but the sad thing is a lot of people are still suffering domestic violence; be it couples, singles, children, etc. Even celebrities have had their own share of domestic violence and only the bold-hearted have been able to share their story. 
Things aren’t as intimate and sweet as they look, beneath all the smiles and glamour these Nigerian celebrities portray, some of them were once victims of domestic violence before they decided to leave. So here are 10 Nigerian celebrities who have been victims of domestic violence;
10. Freeze
Veteran on-air-personality Freeze (Ifedayo Olarinde) has always had a rocky relationship with his ex-wife Opeyemi Olarinde. Back in 2015 Freeze went on a spree on Instagram revealing details of his turbulent marriage with his former wife, and mother of his children. In his revelations, he claimed that he was a victim of domestic abuse, and shared pictures of himself with cuts and bruises. According to him, his wife assaulted him during their marriage.
9. Monalisa Chinda
In 2014 Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda opened up and revealed that she was a victim of domestic abuse in her former marriage. This led to the crash of her first marriage. Monalisa Chinda is currently married to Tonye Victor and she is happy.

8. Fathia Balogun
Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun was formerly married to Saidi Balogun. They were a power couple not only in the Yoruba movie industry but in the entertainment industry generally. Unfortunately, their marriage came to an end as It was riddled with stories of domestic violence.
7. Foluke Daramola
The busty actress who revealed she was raped when she was a teenager also revealed that she was a victim of domestic abuse in her first marriage to Tunde Shobowale.
6. Tiwa Savage
When Tiwa Savage hinted her marriage has its own share of domestic violence, it was definitely a shock to everyone. The afro-beats queen came out to reveal her marriage wasn’t a bed of roses after all. Barely two years after marriage to Tee Billz, Savage disclosed he had been hitting her before and after their marriage.

5. Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh is one of the Nollywood celebrities who has been a victim of domestic violence. According to the mother of one, her husband Olakunle Churchill physically assaulted her on numerous occasions in their marriage. Tonto pointed out that Churchill never owned up to his faults no matter what. Although Churchill is currently married to Gambian-Nigerian actress Rosaline Meurer, Tonto Dikeh seems to be happy as a single mother.
4. Georgina Onuoha
Another actress who has been a victim of domestic violence is Georgina Onuoha who hinted that she was in an abusive marriage with her ex-husband, DR C Igwegbe.
3. Chika Ike
When Chika Ike announced that her divorce was finalized, she received lots of backlash on social media on her failed marriage. But she came out to reveal that her ex-husband, known as Mr. Eberibi physically assaulted her for years. She went on to state that one of the many fights resulted in a miscarriage.
2. Mercy Aigbe
According to reports, the popular Yoruba actress has been a victim of domestic violence for a long time in her former marriage. Currently, she is married to Ibaka TV boss, Kazim Adeoti and she seems to be happy as a second wife.
1. Osinachi Nwachukwu
The case of gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu is indeed a sad one because while every other person on the list was able to leave that toxic marriage, the Ekwueme singer died as a result of domestic violence. Her death is one that many have called for justice to be served because it was stated that she was abused for years by her husband.
