This weekend was lit from top to bottom as the Grammys kept everyone at the edge of their seats waiting to see if their dream of having Wizkid win the Best Global Album category will come through.
Sadly that dream didn’t come to manifestation as Benin superstar Angelique Kidjo bagged the Best Global Album award making it the fifth Grammy she has collected in her 40-year career. While some Nigerian celebrities like Yemi Alade who became a Grammy winner because she was featured on the album, congratulated Kidjo, Simi also did the same, but fans of Wizkid have expressed their displeasure at her win as they have stated that their fav deserved that win.

Whether they agree with the Grammys, Angelique has bagged this one. While the Beninese singer came on stage to accept her award and thank her fans, she gave special kudos to Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, and Mr Eazi saying that they are African musicians that people should watch out for. So that was how the Kutis, and Wizkid lost to Kidjo.
Wizkid FC is thoroughly sad because their Big Wiz irrespective of his two nominations didn’t get any wins, more wins Wiz.
Still, on the Grammys, rapper, Kanye West has matched his colleague and former boss, Jay-Z as the rapper with the most Grammy Awards in history.
While rapper Snoop Dog called out the Grammys organizers saying that he has had 19 nominations yet no wins.
