Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr says Super Eagles won’t lose against Iceland.
Nigeria have to beat Iceland on Friday to keep their hope of progressing to the knockout stages on, following a 2-0 loss to Croatia in Group D opening game. “For me it’s not a question to lose this game,” said Rohr. “I think we won’t lose so I don’t ask this question myself. You can ask after the game but I can tell you we will not lose.”
Rohr added that his side have the tactics to win the match against Iceland – who held Argentina to 1-1 draw with Lionel Messi missing a penalty. Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi in a recent conference in Russia noted that he’s ready play wherever the German coach places him, having faced criticism as a ‘bad 10’ against Croatia. Nigeria will take on Argentina in their last Group D game against Argentina next week.
