Former presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has reacted to the lifting of the Twitter ban by President Buhari after 7 months of suspension of the microblogging platform. The app was suspended in the country in June 2021 after accusing the platform of enabling the spread of fake news and hate speech that undermined national security.
The ban was announced days after the platform deleted a tweet from President Muhammadu Buhari referencing the Nigerian civil war. Adamu reacting to the lifting shared that the country benefitted from the incident as we stayed firm and did the right thing. According to the tech entrepreneur, the country gained Jobs, Taxes, and International offices for Nigeria.
Recall that Adamu was one of the strong supporters of the ban as he described the platform as an enemy of the country designed to destroy the country and also created an app that offered similar services Crowwe app that received a lot of backlash from Nigerians.
