“We Knew Argentina’s Back Three Were Weak” – Croatia Coach Reveals

Croatia coach, Zlatko Dalic has disclosed that his side had good scouts analysing Argentina before their game at the Nizhny stadium on Thursday night.

Luka Modric, Ante Rebic and Ivan Rakitic scored in the game that secured Croatia’s passage to last-16 with their 3-0 triumph. “We had good scouts analysing Argentina,” Dalic said. “We knew that they would play 3-4-3. We knew that the back three of Argentina were a bit weak and would break under pressure.”

Dalic disclosed that he will be resting most of his top players  in their last game against Iceland, having defeated Nigeria and Argentina in their opening Group D games. Argentina coach, Jorge Sampaoli said he’s in pain following the humiliation his side suffered against Croatia, as Lionel Messi failed once again to lift Argentina at the World Cup.  “I have a lot of pain because of the defeat,” Sampaoli told reporters. “I don’t know how to analyse the match properly.”
