Dr Rufus Ositelu of The Church of The Lord Aladura has subtly dissed clergies and churches setting up online payments for offering and tithes amidst the Coronavirus lockdown.
Dr Rufus, who had predicted the emergence of a strange illness from China noted that in an exclusive interview with KOKO TV.
Recall that the clergy had earlier noted that Coronavirus is a tool God is using to teach the rich and powerful not to be self-centred any longer. He noted that the disease, as a respecter of no one, has humbled both the rich and the poor and is opening the eyes of those in governance to what they should have done for their country but left undone.
Speaking on churches setting up online payment means for their members to sow seeds, pay their tithes and offering during this dire time, Dr Rufus Ositelu noted that his church will not do that as it is more concerned about the welfare of its members than the offering to be paid, and the salvation of their souls.
As a Law-abiding Church, we advise our Members to abide by the regulations of the World Health Organization and the Government, by practicing hygiene, staying at home and thus stay safe, and stay alive. By the grace of God, none of our members is involved in the COVID-19 and none has contracted the Corona Virus Disease. To God be the glory. And we have been conducting online Worship Services for our Members, and we shall continue to fellowship with them online. To God alone be the glory.

We have many foundations to assist the less privileged in our society, and there is a particular foundation (JEPEF) that could be of great assistance during this COVID-19 pandemic. At times like this, THE CHURCH OF THE LORD Worldwide is more interested in the health and well-being of our people, and more importantly in THE salvation of their souls“, Dr Rufus Ositelu said.
