Everton forward Wayne Rooney suffered a nasty eye injury during Everton’s clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, after he appeared to be elbowed by Bournemouth’s Simon Francis.
The former Manchester United striker Rooney had to leave the pitch to receive medical treatment after the challenge, which came during the first half of the Cherries’ visit to Goodison Park on Saturday. As Rooney walked from the field accompanied by Blues medical staff, the left side of the forward’s face was crimson as blood poured down from around his eye and on to his shirt.
