Wakanda Exists? Black Panther Spotted In Kenya For The First Time In 100 Years

A rare black leopard also called Black Panther has been spotted in Kenya after it disappeared from Africa since 1909. This specie of Leopard which was last seen about 100 years ago was recently photographed by a biologist after it was walking Majestically in the wild. This footage was said to have been taken by a San Diego Zoo global scientist, Nick Pilfold after months of his watching and waiting for signs of Leopard in the area. Nick and his team had installed remote wildlife cameras to track the leopard population near Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia County last year when they heard unconfirmed reports of a possible sighting of a black leopard. He was quoted to have said that: “We intensified our camera placement in the area the reports were being made. Within a few months, we were rewarded with multiple observations on our cameras”. It was revealed that the female leopard sighted had that peculiar coat colour because of melanism, a gene mutation that results in an over-production of pigment. Although the leopard’s coat appears black during the day, its rosette patterns are visible in nighttime infrared imagery.Photo Credit: Getty
