In a viral video circulating the internet, Uduak Frank Akpan the murderer of Iniubong Umoren tries to escape from the court after he was sentenced to death by hanging.
In the video, Uduak was seen struggling with security personnel and was pulled and dragged with forced into the prison van.

The security operatives were seen shouting don’t shout as he was dragged towards the van. Recall that Uduak-Abasi Akpan had lured Iniubong Umoren out of her home with a fake job interview, and raped and killed her in April 2021, on the outskirts of Uyo.
He later buried her remains in a shallow grave in his family house where the crime took place.
The Court found Uduak-Abasi Frank Akpan guilty of rape and murder of Iniubong Umoren. However, the court discharged and acquitted his father, Frank Akpan and sister, Bassey Anwan.
