Seun, the son of music legend, late Fela Kuti, may remain in custody longer than expected as the Police, on Tuesday morning, sought a court order to remand him in custody, pending when investigation into the assault on a policeman is concluded.

Seun was taken to the Yaba Court 1, this (Tuesday) morning.

Police sources explained that the action became necessary in order not to violate the constitutional duration of detention of suspects.

Besides, Police sources attributed the delay to the artist refusal to write a statement on the matter when he was taken to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, SCIID, yesterday morning.

A source said: “Immediately the incident happened, the Police officer reported the matter.
