Victorious! Drake Acquitted Of Rape And Pregnancy Allegations Charges

American Rapper, Drake, has won the lawsuit filed against him by a woman he had a fling with. The woman known as Layla Lace, whose real name is Laquana Morris, falsely accused the rapper of raping and impregnating her. In a statement by Larry Stein, Drake’s attorney, to TMZ, it was revealed that the case has been resolved. His attorney was quoted to have said that: “The filing made by Drake against Layla Lace has been resolved, with Layla avoiding going to trial by agreeing to a stipulated judgment which prohibits her from repeating past statements she made against Drake,”. “Drake and his team are satisfied with this outcome and while Drake appreciates the support he has received, he asks that his fans and the media allow both parties to move on with their lives.”  Drake who sued Layla for civil extortion, fraud, emotional distress, abuse of process and defamation in September, agreed to have had consensual sex with her at a Manchester, England hotel in February 2017. In the suit, the rapper disclosed that soon after the incident, Layla booked a flight to see him, but became furious after she did not get a response from the rapper, and due to this, she cancelled her flight after which the rapper ceased all communications with her. Afterwards, in April 2017, Layla took to her Instagram page stating that she was pregnant, alleging that Drake was the father. Soon after, she appeared on a radio show to discuss the claim saying that: “I know who I sleep with unprotected, period,”. She continued by reiterating that: “So it’s 100 percent sure. He knows it.” . The rapper also added in his suit that Layla also claimed that he raped her even after Manchester police cleared him of any allegations of sexual assault, she demanded money from him. The rapper and Layla has however settled out pf court with them reaching an agreement that she would refrain from republishing her 2017 post that claimed he raped and impregnated and abandoned her. Photo Credit: Getty
