Vice President Osinbajo To Open 3rd International Conference On Tax In Africa

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will open the 3rd International Conference on Tax in Africa (ICTA), in Abuja on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The flagship conference of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), which is scheduled to hold in Abuja between September 26, 2017 and September 29, 2017 has as its theme: “Building Strong Domestic Tax Regimes in Africa: Strengthening VAT, PIT and CIT.”

The conference will also celebrate and recognise the six African experts selected to serve on the United Nations Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters. Five of the six members are from ATAF member countries and two of these are on the ATAF Council. They include Tunde Fowler (Nigeria), Chairperson of the ATAF Council; and Mrs Elfrieda Stewart Tamba (Liberia).

The conference programme is designed along expert panel discussion sessions and presentations. Delegates and panellists to this year’s ICTA are expected to come from beyond ATAF 38-member countries, including from other revenue authorities and organisations such as the African Development Bank, the World Bank, OECD, International Tax Compact, GIZ, Tax Justice Network – Africa, ECOWAS and CREDAF.
