The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that 101 out of the 110 schoolgirls kidnapped from the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state, by the deadly Boko Haram terrorist group, has been released today.
The announcement was made at the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The new update is coming few hours after the Honourable Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, announced that 76 of the 110 have been rescued.
The news re-affirms the resilient effort of the Nigerian Army to rescue the school girls after they were accused of ignoring several threats from the kidnappers before the incident happened, by Amnesty International.
