Amidst the battle facing Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, the University of Ibadan (UI) has confirmed that the governor truly schooled and graduated from the institution.
This was disclosed in a statement by its Registrar, Mrs Olubunmi Faluyi, who said thar the governor studied Classics, gaining admission to the university in 1976 and graduating in 1979 with a Second Class Honours (Lower Division).
“Records of his admission and graduation are intact in the archives of the university.”

Opposition leaders in the state’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have accused Obaseki of presenting a fake certificate, arguing that he did not graduate from the University.
