Abduction seems to be the latest leading crises in Nigeria, as another individual, identified to be a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
While the country is still battling the abduction of 5 Redeemed Church Pastors, one of whom was just rescued, Mr. Abubakar Idris, has been reportedly abducted at his residence on Lawal Aliyu Road, Barnawa area of Kaduna.
According to Kaduna State Police Command, reports have it that two unidentified persons stormed Idris’ residence, forced him to enter his car and drove off to an unknown destination.
Speaking about the incident, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo explained that the command received the information through DPO Barnawa Division Kaduna. He stated said that patrol teams led by the DPO quickly moved to the scene but the hoodlums had escaped with the victim.

He further noted that investigation revealed later that the victim was likely trailed by the hoodlums while returning home at about 1am. He added that efforts re ongoing to ensure the lecturer’s rescue. “The Command is currently making efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspected criminals and rescue the victim“, he said.
