Unilag Students Go On Protest Over ASUU Strike

Some students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), have taken to the streets on Monday to protest the ongoing strike by members of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU).

The students carried placards, some of which read, ‘We are tired of FG/ASUU face-off’, ‘Strike has killed our educational system, we need to go back to school’, ‘Age no dey my side’.

The students of Unilag are not the first to stage a protest over the ongoing ASUU strike which has lasted for more than 3 months and counting. Students of the University of Benin staged their own strike last week and many more federal schools seem to be joining the train.

Nigerians have been calling on ASUU to end the strike because it is affecting the students in the system who are meant to spend four years in school but are now spending six to seven years in the university.   Trending video of the day;
