UNILAG Announces Resumption Date For Academic Activities

The authorities of the University of Lagos {UNILAG} have announced the approved resumption date for academic activities in the school, which is set for January 25. UNILAG

The Head of the UNILAG’s Media Unit, Mrs Olufadeke Akinleye,  said the academic institution would commence online classes by January 25th, 2021. Mrs Akinleye said physical classes are still not feasible at moment due to the second wave of COVID-19.

Recall the Federal Government had at first approved January 18 for schools across the country to reopen and kickstart all of the abandoned academic activities but that has since the increase of new cases of COVID-19 been on shaky grounds with growing uncertainties just maybe schools might not resume by the proposed date of Jan 18, anymore. Meanwhile, the University of Ilorin and some universities have started online lectures.

The management of the University of Benin announced that the institution would resume on January 30.

Also, the Senate of Bayero University Kano, on Monday, approved the commencement of a new academic session on January 18, 2021, while the second semester would commence on May 3, 2021.

It is also gathered that the Senate of Ekiti State University had also announced that the institution would resume online academic activities from January 18.
