Qatar 2022: Senegal Becomes The First African Country To Win
Qatar are starring down the barrel of an early exit from their home World Cup after Senegal beat the hosts 3-1 at Al Thumama Stadium.

Those hoping for a dynamic start from Qatar were left disappointed as Senegal grabbed control of a meandering match when Boulaye Dia broke the deadlock just before the break.
Famara Diedhiou just after half time looked to have put the game beyond doubt but Qatar then finally upped the tempo and broke their World Cup scoring duck thanks to a bullet Mohammed Muntari header.
With ten minutes to go Senegal were suddenly on thin ice but soon put the game beyond doubt when a smart move ended with a clinical Bamba Dieng finish.
The result leaves Qatar on the brink of elimination, with an Ecuador win over the Netherlands officially ending their tournament.
