Singer 2face Idibia has once again raised the conversation around national language and this time he is calling for pidgin English to be fully developed as a language. The singer addressed the issue via his social media platform.

The singer explained that Pidgin English needs to be fully developed and packaged to fit into a fully developed language. He called on Linguist professors to address the issue sharing that it is the one language many Africans and Nigerians speak and understand without struggle as we all speak different languages.

Pidgin English is a mixture of English and local languages which enables people who do not share a common language to communicate. Most African countries are made up of numerous different ethnic groups who do not necessarily have a lingua franca, so Pidgin has developed.
