Novak Djokovic To Be Deported After Losing Appeal Against Australia Visa Cancellation

Novak Djokovic will be deported from Australia after federal judges ruled on Sunday that the government was acting reasonably when it revoked his visa.

In the latest twist of a protracted saga, the tennis star must now leave Australia immediately, shattering his hopes of winning a 21st grand-slam title and potentially wrecking his chance to ever play in Australia again.

Djokovic could now face a three-year ban from Australia which legal experts have said could affect his ability to travel elsewhere in the world.

The world No 1 won an appeal last week to prevent deportation after officials cancelled his visa because he was not vaccinated against Covid.

His visa was then revoked for a second time on Friday by Australia’s immigration minister who claimed that Djokovic’s presence in the country was a threat to public health.
